SMITH, Nelson John

Aged 84 years, passed away on the 10th October 2023, peacefully at Rose Lodge Rest Home, Invercargill.  Eldest son of the late David and Gladys Smith. Loved husband of the late Lorraine Smith (nee Harvey), loved father and father-in-law of Jackie and Hoeta, Anthony and Penelope, Tracy and Brian. A loved grandfather and great-grandfather. Loved brother and brother-in-law to Greta and Jeffrey Buckingham, Jimmy* and Beverley Smith, Alice and Lindsay McKenzie, Nancy and Brian Dermody, Jean* and Graeme Gimblett, Glenice and Brian*Agnew, Dorothy and Antonio Direnzo, Milton and Joy Smith, Pam Kohnke, Marion and Kelvin Hawkes. Brother-in-law to Brett* and Maureen Harvey, Harry and Judith, Raymond and Sue , Stewart and June, Graham and Wendy, Lindsay, Coral and Arnold Crosbie, Jan* and Wallace Durham. A loved uncle and great-uncle. The family would like to thank Rose Lodge for their care of Nelson and a special thank you to Aunty Alice McKenzie who has been our rock over the years. The family have respectfully requested a private service and wish to invite those to share memories with the family, at the Ascot Park Sports Bar from 3.30pm onwards, on Monday 16th October 2023.
